The Curragh is one of Ireland’s best-known and best-loved racecourses, and it often plays host to some of the biggest horse racing meetings on the sport’s overall calendar.

The first races in the region reportedly took place in the mid-18th century, though it was only in 1868 that Curragh Racecourse was eventually given the title of a full facility.
