Racing begins at 12.25 and the last race of the day is at 3.50, so there’s plenty of time to top up on the Christmas festivities. That’s if you’re not too hungover from the day before!

What to Wear

There is no dress code as such, but there is a recommendation to wear warm clothing as much of the racing at Wincanton Racecourse is run during the winter months.

The Jockey Club Ownership
The Jockey Club Ownership Syndicate Scheme at Wincanton is an amazing opportunity to get closer to the action and experience what it’s like to own a racing horse.
The scheme was launched with three other local Jockey Club racecourse in 2016 and proved massively popular.
They were also relatively successful, winning four out of seventeen races.
The Wincanton Racecourse history started in 1867 with hunting community staging the first ever National Hunt Steeplechase.
The site was used by the Army during World War II and was purchased by The Jockey Club in 1960’s. 2017 sees Wincanton Racecourse celebrate its 150th anniversary.
